Where it all began.
Marissa Thomas started writing books at the age of 14, but it has always been something she enjoyed, even from a very young age. Her first ever novel published online reached 600K reads within just a few short months. Deciding it wasn’t a genre she wanted to write in anymore, at the age of 17, she created a new profile to start fresh. Co-writing a few books among profiles with friends and fellow writers gave her an opportunity to discover what she really wanted to bring to life.
In 2018, she published her first novel solely in the romance genre, Chasing Elliott. This story, among multiple online reading platforms, reached 500K reads before the novel was completed. Once she wrapped up this story, she moved onto another which, to her surprise, received just as much attention. This was when she started to consider that publishing as a career was actually a possibility.
Where she is today.
Now, at the end of 2021, Marissa Thomas has published her debut novel, Chasing Elliott. Her other two novels, Matching Marlowe, which is a stand-alone with the twist on the match-maker cliche, and Ashes of the Night, the first book in The Crimson Crown Duology, are currently being written. Marissa also has a couple novellas she is working on that tie into Chasing Elliott. She is excited to see where this adventure takes her and hopes that, one day, she will be picked up by an agency. But, until then, she is more than happy to continue down the rocky path that is self-publishing.
